A while back we obtained some of the original Canadian maple stage floor from the fabulous Rock City, Nottingham, during a recent refurbishment. Rock City is a legendary venue established in1980. The Undertones played the first ever gig, Guns n Roses, the Ramones, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana, Oasis, David Bowie, Kings of Leon, Amy Winehouse, Doctor John, Modest Mouse, Ocean Colour Scene, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, check it all out here.
What to do with a bunch of sticky dented rock hard secret nailed tongue and grooved maple? Turn it into a guitar, what else. So we came up with a semi-hollow body, African mahogany back and the maple stage floor top, complete with deep binding to hide the t & g. The original finish was lightly sanded back leaving most of the original stiletto marks and literally stamped-in history. This is number 2/4 to be hand made in our Nottingham Shop.
