This left-handed NCG Apostle in Mahogany is a reclaimed one-piece antique mahogany body, approximately 30mm thick.
This timber came to us from a regular customer, Alan, who had a mahogany workshop cutting table from Henry Swann Gentlemen’s Outfitter and Tailor in Nottingham. Alan started work at Swann’s in 1967. The business traded from 1907 to 2017 and it is believed the mahogany table was one of the original fittings. It is probably over 150 years old and bears all the marks from decades of trade. We could find no sign of a board joint and the top was over 700 mm wide. After much consideration we decided to leave the original scratches, marks and holes as there is so much history to this piece of wood.
There will be a further three or four similar models from the same piece of mahogany. The design is ideally suited to install a Bigsby B5. TKL hard case available separately.
If required, cost with fitted Bigsby B5 is £1400.
